Christian Ninja

While browsing the internet I came across this interesting fellow, Choson Ninja. He's posted hundreds of martial arts videos featured on YouTube that covers everything from self defense drills to morals and ethics. Some of his philosophical discourses are worthwhile and appropriately related to combative training, but he also delves into areas that fall way outside of the martial arts, including advice on relationships and how to figure out what women think. Now that could come in handy. As if that wasn't enough our ninja subject is a devout Christian who cites scripture and has stated that Jesus could have in fact been a qigong master. Really.

Here's one of his lectures on discipline:

Thank you for the link. He certainly has some interesting videos up. As a fairly new student, I can use them to expand upon what I learn at the dojo.

This guy has been around for a while. Supergroup7 mentioned him a few months back.

I said in comments to her the following: "Maybe I'm a cynic, but the hero worship, honorifics, blind devotion, and constant references to a higher power, really put me off. Focusing on the spiritual side puts me even more in mind of a strange, online cult.

I'll give this guy a year before he begins encouraging his students to make pilgramiges to his "school" so he can begin teaching them in person."

I haven't seen anything to change my mind. There's something about the entire set up that makes me very wary.

A great link. Its interesting to here the views of someone who has obviously thought long and hard about a subject (in this case, discipline)

My favorite is Jesus as a space traveler. And give the qigong thing some time, I'm sure it'll catch on.

Somebody beat me to it? Figures. According to his YouTube liner notes he started posting videos in 7/07.

I like his treatment of certain topics, but I'm always leery of someone with a religious agenda. Anyone who's demonstrating a shoulder lock and mentions Corinthians in the same breath should really be taken with a grain of salt.

Like I was telling Steve, some of his talks are pertinent to the martial arts. It's interesting to see the disparity of what people think of this guy.

And Jesus may have known Kung Fu, too. See: Kung Fu Jesus

Whoa - where did you find that? Lovely. I liked the Easter Bunny as a legbreaker clip better. Besides, everybody knows Jesus did tai chi.
